Canadian figure skater Joannie Rochette captured the hearts of fans around the world earlier this year when she skated to an Olympic bronze medal in an emotional performance just days after the passing of her mother in Vancouver. Today it was announced that her performance has been nominated in the ‘best moment’ category for the 2010 ESPY Awards.

Fans are able to vote for Rochette by going to www.espn.com/espys and clicking on “Best Moment”. They can also vote by going to the ESPN page on facebook at www.facebook.com/espn or tweet about nominating Joannie at twitter.com/espys.

"I am very honoured to be nominated for an ESPY award for Best Moment. This has been an incredible time in my life. When I go to Los Angeles for the ESPY awards show, I know I will have my mother with me in my heart. Thank you Canada for your support; you will never know how much you have helped me during these past few months."

The ESPY Awards will take place July 14, 2010 live on ESPN in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre with red carpet starts at 7:00 p.m. Eastern and the show live at 9 p.m.
